Welcome back to Tip Tuesday! This week we will be talking about how to edit employees attendance time blocks to account for Daylight Saving Time.
On Sunday, March 13th at 2 am we will lose an hour as the clocks will be pushed forward an hour. Therefore, any employees who work overnight on Saturday night will have an extra hour in their attendance. In order to fix this, simply go into the attendance time block editor and select the time block you would like to edit.
In the image below you will see an example of a time block that has one hour more than the employee worked. Since we will “lose an hour” on Sunday morning, this time block should only count for 7 hours. In order to manually correct this there is an option labeled “Use this # hours”. Select this option and change the number of hours to one hour less than the automatically calculated number. Therefore, in this example, we would click this option and change the hours from 8 to 7. This will eliminate the one hour extra that they received from moving the clocks forward an hour.
Now your employees’ schedules should reflect the number of hours your employees actually worked for Daylight Saving Time.
