Welcome back to Tip Tuesday! This week we will be talking about the tips and tricks to efficiently scheduling your employees. There are 4 main features we provide to increase the speed and accuracy of your scheduling: the Recurring Schedule, Schedule Templates, Auto-Scheduling, and the Get Best Fit Tool. This week we will be specifically talking about Auto-Scheduling, but if you tune in next week you can learn about the Get Best Fit Tool.
Auto-Scheduling is the absolute best way to speed up your scheduling in WorkSchedule.Net. With our detailed rule system, you can set up the exact way you want your schedule in no time. Do your employees have a maximum amount of hours per week? Do you like to spread your shifts among employees more evenly? Do your employees have availability or a working preference? These are all situations that our rule based Auto-Scheduler can tackle with ease saving you considerable time in your scheduling. All you have to do is add the rules that fit your needs.
After adding the rules your company needs, you can begin to auto-schedule. Start by going into the current schedule, here you can select any or all open time blocks and click on the option to automatically fill in these shifts with employees that do not break your rules. The following image shows you where to go to select the auto-scheduling option.
As you can see, I have all of the shifts selected. However, the shifts that are already assigned to employees will not be affected. If no employees can be found to fill the shift without breaking a rule then the shift will be left as an open shift. Otherwise the shift will be filled with the first valid candidate. Another way you can auto-schedule is by selecting the open shifts you need filled then by clicking on the magic hat in the upper right of the schedule.
